The NEHR Connect Grant (NCG) helps cover the cost of a clinic system that’s certified to contribute to NEHR - a fixed amount for most service types, applied for through an official government portal. What the grant covers (and what it doesn’t)
The NCG offsets the cost of adopting a clinic system (HIMS) that’s certified to contribute to NEHR. For GP clinics it’s a fixed S$8,400 - structured to cover roughly two years of subscription on a compliant cloud system.
It is a government grant. Your software vendor doesn’t provide it and doesn’t fund it - the vendor’s only role is making sure your system qualifies.
One point that trips clinics up: the NCG is for the system only. The cybersecurity & data security (CS/DS) work that the HIA also requires is funded by separate schemes. We cover the full funding picture below.
How much you get - amount by service type
The NCG amount is set by MOH and depends on your service type. GPs get a fixed sum; larger providers get a percentage subsidy up to a cap.

Are you eligible?
Eligibility for the NCG follows your system: you qualify by adopting or enhancing a clinic system (HIMS) that Synapxe has certified as HIA-compliant. The grant follows the certified system, not the other way round.

How to apply, step by step
- Get onto a certified clinic system. Eligibility starts here - your HIMS must be certified to connect to NEHR.
- Check your opening date. Applications open ahead of your service-type deadline. For GP clinics, that’s 1 July 2026, with an application deadline of 31 August 2027.
- Apply through the official portal. Submissions go through the OurSG Grants Portal ↗ - not through your vendor.
- Have your documentation ready. Keep your clinic registration and system details on hand to speed up the submission.
What the NCG doesn’t cover: the security grants
HIA readiness has two cost buckets. The NCG covers the first - your clinic system. The second is the cybersecurity & data security (CS/DS) work, and it has its own separate funding: CISOaaS (CSA, up to 70%) and the Productivity Solutions Grant (EnterpriseSG, 50% capped at S$30k, for SMEs - a business in Singapore with ≤S$100m turnover or ≤200 employees, which most GP clinics are). A third scheme, TSS Part C (80% capped at S$40k), is only for Members of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) - community-care organisations such as nursing homes, so most GP clinics use CISOaaS and PSG.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Waiting until the deadline. NEHR onboarding takes time - up to about five weeks with your provider. The application window closes at the same time as your compliance deadline, so a late start risks both.
- Assuming your vendor applies for you. The grant is yours to apply for, through the government portal. The vendor only makes your system eligible.
- Confusing this with the cybersecurity grant. The NCG is for the system; CS/DS consultancy and tools are separate schemes - CISOaaS and PSG (TSS Part C applies only to NCSS community-care members).
